  • Your site is a wonderful, authentic, and nostalgic source of original Cajun recipes that many of us have grown up with. Reading them brings back such great memories of my grandmother and her sisters working tirelessly preparing these delicious foods over hot stoves in unairconditoned kitchens. Oh, what great cooks they were! Thank you for sharing these treasured recipes with us!

  • My great aunt and uncle were Andrew and Eunice Baudoin, they lived on E.8th St in Kaplan. Uncle Andrew ran a small rice mill for many years and they both did upholstery for the area. They had a daughter who lived with them, Lillian who was crippled by Polio. Taunte Une was a fantastic cook and I remember spending many summers shucking corn and cutting it off the cob to make maquesho. My cousin Ted Marceaux helped. I love Kaplan and am so glad to have found this site! Thanks for all the wonderful recipies that bring back so many happy memories. BTW my best friend was Rexine Hanks (her dad was mayor at the time). If any of yall read this please let me know how you are at: [email protected]. Thanks again for the fantastic site and delicious recipies!

  • I just wanted y'all to know you aren't the only Cajuns alive. I am from a little town here in Ks. that was settled by Cajuns from Canada. My greatgrand parents came to Rice Lake, Wisconsin first then on to Ks. My grandparents had a family of ten, of which only one is still alive. At my grandmothers funeral it was attended by 54 grand children and 57 great grandchildren, so you can see we are alive and kicking, us Cajuns here in NorthWest Ks. I like your site and will be trying out some of the receipes.
