I am so glad I ran across this site, although by accident I have visited often. Thank you so much and keep sending those recipes so I can keep making them in my home.

  • Hello folks, There's a small pickle company in Ontario, Canada that makes a pickle called Ken's Perkles. I've never tasted any thing like them before. Any one ever heard of them? Seems you can only get them in that part of the world. Would love to have the recipe. Thanks JS

  • Ruby (Maw-Maw), Chrissy & Brandon.. I am here to rave about the cookbook you guys have put together. Couldn't wait to get my copy, it's awesome. I picked mine up along with a copy for a friend & took mine with me to toning tables, I went thru it while doing toning exercise, that's how much I was looking forward to going thru it. It's well put together & the recipes are just so down home. Love the graphics, awesome.. Bob, what can I say the poem is so authentic!! You must have been a Cajun in a before life. So folks, get yourself a copy of Maw-Maw's cuisine, you will not be sorry you did. To all my buddies from Cajun Land now living in the West, keep up the good work. Before I close I have to make a comment of the 'second paragraph' of the introduction page, it says it all! Until next time..your faithful fan in Cajun Land.

  • I had the privilege of spending Christmas Eve dinner with Maw Maw, known to me as Ms Ruby and her husband, Bob, delightful daughter Ms Chrissy and friend, Ms Tilly. It was a wonderful evening filled with Cajun cook'n. Loved everything from the seafood gumbo, pickled pears, cabbage salad to the pear pie and praline candies. Um um um good! After the sampling of this Louisiana cuisine, I'm hooked and will be back to this site to see if I can cook me up some gumbo.

  • Not long after returning home from spending Thanksgiving out in the country at daughter's house with family & friends, my husband Robert & I were quite surprised to see Ms Chrissy & her friend at our front door. Chrissy was in for a while after doing her spot on local tv station & came a calling. We had a nice visit, but not long enough, so we invited them over for supper the next night. Chrissy & her friends enjoyed some southern hospitality while feasting on some good old fashinoned gumbo & the fixings. After some good time eating and visiting Chrissy & friends went their merry way carrying home some cake & home made cookies. Chrissy, really enjoyed your visit, it had been a long time, let's not make it so long next time. And maybe sometime in the future we will surprise you..Enjoyed meeting the gang also. Love ya!

  • I live in Orlando, FL, but am from New Iberia. I would love to make Washington pie. When I was a child, we could get at the bakery for 5 cents. I recall that they would use left over doughnuts and anything else that did not sell the previous day. Recently, while visiting NI I tried to purchase some but it was not the same thing. Do you have any receipes that I could try? I tried to send this through contact us and could not.
    - Verna Dixon, Orlando, FL

  • Hi Chrissy, Just got off the phone with Maw Maw, just love her calls, we really can get carried away, but it's so much fun. We mentioned the guestbook and I decided I've been around long enough that I need to post something. HaHa Just wanted to let you know how proud I am of you, it's so very up key having you and mom keep our food heritage, customs, etc. alive and making it all available to the world! Mr. Robert & I travel a lot and the "so called" Cajun dishes we are served in restaurants are really being crucified at most places, so it's nice seeing recipes we were raised on being posted and being kept alive like this. Keep up the good work! You guys are the best! Yawl make me "PROUD". Ms. Bert
