Ingredients
- 5 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 6 cups milk, scalded
- 4 cups heavy cream
- 2 tbsp vanilla
- 4 jars cherries with juice
Directions
Step 1
Combine eggs, sugar and salt in a sauce pan. Pour hot milk over egg mixture. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture coats a spoon. Chill in the refrigerator until cool.
Step 2
Add cherries, heavy cream and vanilla. Pour mixture into an ice cream maker, following the instructions according to your appliance.
