Six Minute Super Shrimp

Mawmaw was told that this was the secret dish that wooed this happy lady into marriage. The author also adds that “this is a famous and expensive New Orleans dish that you serve as is with crusty French bread and use the juice w/butter as the dip”.

Ingredients

  • fresh shrimp with or without heads
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • yellow or Vidalia onions sliced thinly
  • Season All seasoning mix
  • crushed garlic
  • 3 tbsp butter or 1/3 of an 8 tbsp stick

Directions

Step 1

Start with the largest bowl that will fit in your microwave

Step 2

Layer as many shrimp as you can with or without the heads in the bowl in a single layer. Try not to have any shrimp on top of each other. Sprinkle with Worcestershire sauce and layer the top of the shrimp with a sliced onion.

Step 3

Season with Season All seasoning mix and do not be afraid to be generous.

Step 4

Add a nice amount of crushed garlic (your call but this is the part that makes the dish).

Step 5

Cover tightly and cook on high three minutes.

Step 6

Carefully check to make sure they are cooking evenly; stir if necessary

Step 7

Cook another 3 to 3 1/2 minutes Let sit for a couple of minutes and serve over pasta.

Note you can add a third of a stick of butter to give it a really rich taste.
