Ingredients
- 1 egg
 - 1 cup sugar
 - 1/2 cup flour
 - 1 tsp baking powder
 - 1 cup chopped apple
 - 1/2 tsp salt
 - 1/2 cup chopped nuts
 - 1/2 tsp cinnamon
 - 1 1/2 tsp nutmeg
 - Topping:
 - 1/2 cup brown sugar
 - 1/2 cup granulated sugar
 - 1/2 cup milk
 - 1 teaspoon vanilla
 - 1/2 cup margarine
 
Directions
Step 1
In a large glass bowl, combine the egg, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup chopped apple, flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add the chopped nuts.
Step 2
Pour into a greased loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
Step 3
While that's cooking, prepare the topping by combining the brown sugar, white sugar, milk, margarine and vanilla in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and continue stirring until the mixture thickens.
