Oatmeal Tollhouse Cookies

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups shortening
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 4 cups rolled oats
  • 9 oz chocolate chips

Directions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2

In large mixing bowl, sift flour, and then sift again with baking soda and salt.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, cream shortening with sugar, beat in eggs and mix in vanilla. Stir in the dry ingredients. Add the rolled oats and the chocolate chips.

Step 4

Drop by teaspoonful onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until cookies are brown. Do not over bake.
