The Best Sugar Cookies Ever

This classic sugar cookie is made easier with this no fail recipe. Bring them with you on your duck hunts, skiing trips or white water rafting. Great to snack on after expending all that energy.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter (softened to room temperature)
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup milk (add a thimbleful of vinegar to sour)

Directions

Step 1

Cream butter, sugar and then add eggs. Mix all dry ingredients together. Combine wet and dry ingredients along with the soured milk. Refrigerate overnight. Roll out very thin, use a mixture of flour and sugar for this and cut out 2 ½ inch size cookies. Bake at 325 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes until brown around the edges. If some cookies brown before other, take them out and then let others continue to cook.
