Lime Green Fluff

Looking for a light dessert or salad to add to your holiday table this dish fits the bill. I serve it for the holidays as a salad but can be served as a dessert. Dish can be made calorie-wise by using sugar free Jell-O and low-fat cottage cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 large container Cool Whip
  • 1 large container cottage cheese
  • 1 large lime Jell-O
  • 1 large can crushed pineapple
  • 1 large can orange segment or use fresh
  • 1 cup walnuts chopped
  • 1 small jar of cherries

Directions

Step 1

Blend cool whip and cottage cheese in a large Tupperware bowl or punch bowl.

Step 2

Add dry Jell-O. Drain fruit and blend well and add pineapple, orange segments, and nuts. Add cherries on top with additional nuts for garnish.

Step 3

You can use other flavors of jello (could easily be doubled for larger crowds).

Note author has used low fat cottage cheese and sugar free Jell-O in the recipe and the dish still came out great. You could also add tropical fruits or fruit cocktail if desired. Serve with holiday meals as a salad or dessert along with your favorite pies and cakes.
