Forgotten Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 egg whites
  • Pinch salt
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 (6 oz) package semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2

In a stand mixer, beat egg whites, tartar, and salt at high speed until stiff.

Step 3

Gradually add sugar while beating. Using a spatula, fold in (do not stir) pecans and chocolate chips. Cover cookie sheet with wax paper and drop cookies on with a teaspoon.

Step 4

Place in oven and then turn the oven off. Leave cookies in overnight or for at least four hours. DO NOT open oven door, the retained heat will cook the cookies slowly. Makes about 2 dozen cookies
