Shrimp Bisque Chowder

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup celery, finely diced
  • 1 lb raw shrimp, chopped
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 quart milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp tabasco sauce
  • 1/4 tbsp paprika
  • 2 tsp lemon juice

Directions

Step 1

In large saucepan melt butter. Add onion and celery. Cook until onion is tender but not brown.

Step 2

Add shrimp and cook for 2 minutes stirring frequently.

Step 3

Blend in flour. Gradually stir in milk. Add seasonings and lemon juice. Bring to a boil; then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.

Note: Canned or cooked crab or lobster meat may be substituted for shrimp.
