Rice Dressing (Baked) aka Dirty Rice

Also known as “Louisiana Dirty Rice”, this dish is a true Cajun classic. There are many ways to make this dish, and this is one way from a friend of mine.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground meat, browned
  • 1 cup raw rice
  • 1 (10 oz) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 can (10oz) beef stock soup with onion (French Onion Soup)
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cups of water

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven at 350 degrees. Brown the ground meat and drain any excess fat. Mix all the ingredients together and pour into a greased 8x8 casserole dish. Cover with tinfoil and bake for 1 hour.

Be careful not to remove the covering while it is baking, this seals in the heat and moisture, allowing it to cook more efficiently.
