A great, quick casserole that’s very tasty with tender macaroni, tuna, cream of celery soup, and a hint of curry powder. Also great for storing and reheating in the microwave (if there is any left).

Ingredients

6 servings
  • 2 cups macaroni
  • 2 (6 oz) cans cream of celery soup
  • 2 (11 oz) cans tuna
  • 1 tsp curry powder
  • 2 tsp minced onion
  • 1/2 cup or more of buttered bread crumbs

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Cook macaroni according to package directions and drain well. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Combine cream of celery soup, tuna (drained), curry powder, and minced onion in a large bowl. Mix soup mixture with cooked macaroni in a 2 quart baking dish and top with buttered bread crumbs.
  3. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes until hot and bubbly and the bread crumbs are golden brown.

Common Problems and Solutions

Q: Can I use a different type of soup?

A: Yes, cream of mushroom soup is a popular alternative. You can also try cream of chicken soup for a different flavor profile.

Q: My casserole came out dry. What happened?

A: Make sure you're not draining the tuna too thoroughly - some of the liquid helps keep the casserole moist. You can also add a splash of milk to the soup mixture if it seems too thick.

Tips and Techniques

For extra flavor, sauté the minced onion in a little butter before adding it to the mixture. You can also add frozen peas or diced celery for more vegetables.
