Grandma's Louisiana Fruit Salad

Ingredients
8
servings
- 1 (21 oz) can peach pie filling
- 2 (15.5 oz) cans chunk pineapple, drained
- 2 (11 oz) cans mandarin oranges, drained
- 1 package frozen strawberries, thawed or a pint of fresh berries
- 4 bananas, sliced
Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a large bowl with a cover, mix the pineapple, mandarin oranges, strawberries, and bananas together. Pour the peach pie filling over the fruit and stir until well mixed. Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.
- Keeps up to two weeks refrigerated and can also be served over homemade vanilla ice cream or as a dessert topped with whipped cream.
Tips and Techniques
Add the bananas just before serving if you plan to store the salad for more than a day, as they can brown. The peach pie filling acts as a natural preservative for the other fruits.
