A favorite cookie recope for grandchildren. Maw maw comes out the winner with these.
Ingredients
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup shortening
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 1/2 cup oatmeal
- 1 cup coconut
Directions
Step 1
Call the grandkids to help. In a large mixing bowl, combine and cream the sugars, shortening salt, vanilla and eggs.
Step 2
Combine the flour, oatmeal, and coconut and add gradually to the creamed mixture. Roll the dough into walnut size balls and flatten on the cookie sheet.
Step 3
Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
