Prep Time:5 minutes
Cook Time:18 minutes
Ready In:23 minutes
This is my grandma Breaux's recipe. We affectionately called her "MOM-MOM". She was in her kitchen until she couldn't any longer, she was 105 1/2 years young when we lost her.
 
Ingredients
2 cups sugar 2 eggs
3/4 cup shortening, room temperature 1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 tsp nutmeg 4 cups all-purpose flour
4 tsp baking powder extra flour for rolling out tarts
 
Directions
Cream the sugar and eggs. Add the room tempature shortening, mixing well.

Stir in the milk, the nutmeg, then the flour one cup at a time along with the baking powder until dough is firm.

Refrigerate over night.

Make your tart using a floured surface, add your filling of choice.

Transfer to a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper and bake for about 18 minutes at 350*. Remove and cool on racks.
