This is my grandma Breaux's recipe. We affectionately called her "MOM-MOM". She was in her kitchen until she couldn't any longer, she was 105 1/2 years young when we lost her. |

| Ingredients |
| 2 cups sugar |
2 eggs |
| 3/4 cup shortening, room temperature |
1/2 cup milk |
| 1 1/2 tsp nutmeg |
4 cups all-purpose flour |
| 4 tsp baking powder |
extra flour for rolling out tarts |
|
| | | Directions | Cream the sugar and eggs. Add the room tempature shortening, mixing well.
Stir in the milk, the nutmeg, then the flour one cup at a time along with the baking powder until dough is firm.
Refrigerate over night.
Make your tart using a floured surface, add your filling of choice.
Transfer to a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper and bake for about 18 minutes at 350*. Remove and cool on racks. |
