Note from editor: This recipe is fantastic. For a few months, I had it almost nightly. I'd throw the smothered cabbage on top of white rice and eat away. MmmM! |

| Ingredients |
| oil |
sugar |
| 1 head cabbage, chopped |
1/2 pound pork meat, back bone does well |
| salt and pepper |
| |
| | | Directions | In a heavy skillet, heat oil.
Add sugar and dissolve letting the sugar brown some. Do not burn.
Add chopped cabbage, meat, salt and pepper.
Lower heat, cover and simmer until meat is done stirring occasionally.
Can serve this as a side or a main course with hot rice. A good substitute for the meat is smoked sausage. |
