The delicate onion flavor of shallot compliments sauces and salad dressings. They are excellent used raw because of their distinct flavor. This dish can be used over cooked meats, poultry or seafood. Source: Melssa's Shallots
Note: Do not confuse scallions (green onions) with shallots.
Ingredients
4 ounces butter divided
1/4 cup minced shallots
1 tsp finely chopped thyme
1 tsp fresh ground pepper
Directions
In a small saucepan over medium heat, place two tablespoon butter. Add shallots, saute for 5 minutes or until soft. Add thyme and black pepper. Remove from heat.
Add the remaining butter, stir until completely combined. Use over cooked meat, poultry or seafood. Store unused portion covered in refrigerator.
