Over 30 years ago, I was given this recipe. Very versatile, the pumpkin pie is great for Thanksgiving or Christmas or use the meat from your hallowed Halloween pumpkin. You could also alternate using the sweet potatoes for the meat of the pie. Simply delicious and easy. |

| Ingredients |
| 1 1/2 cup canned or mashed pumpkin or sweet potatoes |
3/4 cup sugar |
| 1/2 tsp salt |
1 tsp cinnamon |
| 1/2 tsp ginger |
1/2 tsp nutmeg |
| 1/4 tsp cloves |
2 slightly beaten eggs |
| 1 1/4 cup regular milk |
1 can evaporated milk 6 oz can |
| 1 unbaked pastry shell 9 inches |

| | | Directions | Thorougly mix pumpkin or sweet potato (yams, sugar, salt, and spices.
Blend in eggs, milk, and evaporated milk.
Pour into an unbaked pastry shell (crimp edges high).
Bake in a hot oven 400 degrees for 50 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean. Cool before serving. |
