This is an adaptation of a recipe from The Complete Book of Pickles and Relishes (Leonard Levinson). The recipe book was picked up in an antique shop in Comfort, TX. Comfort Antique Mall features collectors & dealers from Texas and nearby states visit our 30+ shops regularly. They like both the excellent quality and the low prices.
 
Ingredients
16 red peppers 16 green peppers
3 small hot peppers 16 red onions
3 pints vinegar 4 tbsp salt
3 cups sugar  
 
Directions
Fine chop peppers and onions. Cover with boiling water and let stand for 5 minutes; then drain. Boil vinegar, salt and sugar. Add vegetables and bring to a boil again. Seal at once in sterilized jars. Makes 12 pints.
