Evaporated Milk a staple that most mothers raised their babies on. This recipe appeared on the Pet milk cans when a 16 ounce jar of pure grape jam sold for 23 cents! That is now close to being just the sales tax on a large can of evaporated milk. Ceux-là étaient les jours mes enfants

Ingredients
2 tbsp flour 3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp salt 1 cup dark corn syrup (Karo)
2 eggs 1/2 cup Pet Evaporated Milk
1 cup broken pecan, walnut or filberts pieces 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Directions
Mix in a 1 1/2 quart bowl the flour, sugar, and salt. Add and mix well the corn syrup. Beat in with a fork, one at time the 2 eggs. Mix in the Pet Milk, nuts and vanilla.
Pour into a 9-in pie pan lined with unbaked pastry. Bake near the center of a 375 degree oven (high moderate) about 50 minutes or until firm. Cool before serving.

Scale this recipe to servings.
