Fun stuff on the coconut from http://www.absoluteastronomy.com/encyclopedia/c/co/coconut.htm - All parts of the coconut palm are useful, and the trees have a comparatively high yield (up to 75 "nuts" per year); it therefore has significant economic value. The name for the coconut palm in ((Hinduism) an ancient language of India (the language of the Vedas and of Hinduism); an official language of India although it is now used only for religious purposes) Sanskrit is kalpa vriksha, which translates as "the tree which provides all the necessities of life". In (A member of a people inhabiting the northern Malay Peninsula and Malaysia and parts of the western Malay Archipelago) Malay, the coconut is known as pokok seribu guna, "the tree of a thousand uses". In some parts of the world, trained (Any of various long-tailed primates (excluding the prosimians)) monkeys are used to harvest the coconut. Training schools for monkeys still exist in southern (A country of southeastern Asia that extends southward along the Isthmus of Kra to the Malay peninsula) Thailand. Competitions are held each year to discover the fastest harvester.
 
Ingredients
4 eggs beaten 2 cups sugar
2 cups milk 1/2 cup plain flour
pinch salt 1/2 tbsp baking powder
1 stick melted butter 1 tsp vanilla
1 small can 29cents flake coconut  
 
Directions
Beat eggs:
add: 2 cups sugar
add: 2 cups milk gradually, mix well
sift and add: 1/2 cup plain flour, pinch salt,
1/2 T baking powder
add:1 stick melted margarine
1 t vanilla
1 small (29cent) can flake coconut
Pour into 2 pie tins lightly greased. Bake at 350 degrees, 30 minutes or until set. Makes 2-8 inch pies. This pie makes its' own crust.
