The aroma of the yeast being added to the mixture can only be beat by the smell of the this bread cooking. Make a memory - bake this today!
Ingredients
1/4 cup warm water
1 package yeast
1 tsp salt
3 1/2 cup to 4 cups flour
1/4 cup oil
1/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup warm milk
Directions
Mix the yeast and the warm water and let the mixture set for about 2O minutes. Combine the rest of the ingredients and add the yeasted mixture. Mix well. Let the dough rise until double in size. Punch down and make golf-ball size rolls and allow the dough to rise again until double in size or make 2 loaves and let rise. Bake when ready in a 350 degree oven for about 2O minutes or until golden brown. Bring out the warm Steen Syrup, dip, eat and wash down with a cold glass of milk. Dat's right; you Cajuns know what I'm talking about. Oh yeah...you can serve dat bread with any other meal too!
