This recipe belonged to our friend Lena Bertrand. There was hardly a birthday or holiday that she didn't make her bread pudding. Everyone loved it. This is in memory of Lena from her friend and co-worker at Kaplan State Bank, Cynthia Abshire
Ingredients
12 slices old bread
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup butter
2 cups milk
1 large can pet milk
4 eggs
1 tsp vanilla flavoring
1 can condensed milk
Directions
Mix all ingredients together except the condensed milk and bake for 45 minutes in a buttered 9x13 casserole dish at 450 degrees.
Pour 1 can condensed milk over bread pudding when it comes out of the oven.
* Blueberry schnappes or ameretto can be added to the condensed milk. I also add 1 tsp. vanilla to the condensed milk.
