I can remember when this recipe was first given to me. I must have cooked every week for months My children loved it!!!!I have found over the years that you can use homemade dough or frozen dough to make this bread.
Ingredients
1 can piping hot dough or crescent rolls
1/2 pound ground meat, sausage or other quick cooking meat
1 small box of Cheddar or Mozzarella grated
1/2 onion chopped fine
1 celery stalk chopped fine
Directions
In a medium pan, brown the meat. Add the onion and celery and cook until wilted. Season to taste with salt and pepper, if needed. Drain well. (If I am using ground meat I like to add garlic powder and onion powder.)
Roll out the dough together as one piece on a greased cookie sheet. Layer the cheese and meat mix on 1/2 of the dough. Flap the dough over and pinch the sides closed.
Bake at 350 degrees until golden about 10 to 15 minutes. Slice after cooking. (If using frozen bread, follow baking direction on package).
