These should be called "Grandma Cookies". Children get so excited when these cookies are bakes. Cook them when the grandchildren come or when you visit. Or fill your holiday cookie tins with these. They are so good.
Ingredients
4 1/2 cup flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup brown sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 cup shortening
1 cup white sugar
1 cup pecans chopped
Directions
Cream sugar and shortening.
Sift together the dry ingredients and add to the creamed mixture.
Add the eggs and the rest of the ingredients.
Roll the dough in wax paper having it look like the slice and bake cookies at your grocer's dairy section or like your rolling pin.
Refrigerate over night.
Slice and bake the cookies at 350 degrees until they are barely getting a little brown around the edges.
