NUTRITION INFORMATION FOR FIGS - 1/4 cup dried figs counts as 1/2 cup in the MyPyramid.gov Fruit Group. For a 2,000- calorie diet, the daily recommendation is about 2 cups of fruit. Now this is odd... but, there are over 600 types of figs, and you can't find ANY of them in the produce section of the local grocery store... |

| Ingredients |
| 1 stick softened butter 8 tblsp |
2 cups sugar |
| 1 cup fig preserves |
3 eggs |
| 1 tsp baking powder |
3 cups flour |
| nutmeg and cinnamon to taste |

| | | Directions | Cream the sugar, eggs, and butter. Combine with the fig preserves. Combine the flour and baking powder and the optional cinnamon and nutmeg. Gradually add to the flour mixture to the creamed ingredients. Spoon drop cookies on cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees until cookie is slightly brown (approximately 20 minutes).
