Use your fig preserves for making this cobbler. If you like figs you will like this dessert. |

| Ingredients |
| 1/4 cup butter or margarine |
1 cup all purpose flour |
| 1 cup sugar |
2 tsp baking powder |
| 1 cup milk |
1 large egg or 2 small eggs |
| 1 tsp vanilla extract |
3 cups fig preserves |

| | | Directions | Place butter in 2-quart baking dish. Bake at 375 degrees F. until butter melts. Remove from oven and set aside.
Combine flour, sugar, and baking powder in a large glass bowl. Add the milk, egg, and vanilla stirring until smooth. Pour batter into the baking dish; spoon preserves over batter.
Bake at 375 degrees F. for 40 minutes, covering dish with aluminum foil after 20 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
