| Ingredients |
| 2 cups sugar |
1/2 cup buttermilk |
| 2 cups flour |
1 tsp soda |
| 1 tsp vanilla |
1 stick oleo, margarine or butter |
| 4 tbsp cocoa |
1/2 cup shortening |
| 1 cup water |
Icing |
| 1 stick oleo margarine or butter |
4 tbsp cocoa |
| 1/2 cup milk |
1 box powdered sugar |
| 1 cup pecans 1 tsp vanilla |

| | | Directions | In a large mixing bowl mix 2 cups sugar and 2 cups flour. In a sauce pan bring to a boil 1 stick oleo, 4 T cocoa, 1/2 cup shortening and 1 cup water. Pour over dry ingredients. Add: 2 eggs, 1 tsp soda, 1/2 cup buttermilk and 1 tsp vanilla. Mix well and bake in a well greased oblong pan for 25 minutes at 400 or until toothpick comes out clean.
Start 5 minutes before cake is done.
Mix 1 stick oleo, 4 T cocoa, 1/2 cup milk and bring to a boil. Add 1 box confectioners sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, and 1 cup pecans(chopped if wanted) Pour over cake. |
