Makes: 24 servings
Prep Time:25 minutes
Cook Time:40 minutes
Ready In:1 hour, 5 minutes
Any flavor of pie filling can be used for this dish. Use the red cherries for a festive holiday dessert.
 
Ingredients
1 cup shortening 1 3/4 cup sugar
4 eggs 1 tsp vanilla
3 cups sifted flour 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt 1 tsp cinnamom
1/4 cup sugar 1 can cherry pie filling
 
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cream shortening, sugar and eggs.

Add to the mixure the flour, baking powder and salt.

Place 3/4 of the mixture in a greased and floured 9x12 pan. Spread the can of pie filling on top of mixture.

Take the remaining mixture and drop by spoonfuls over the fruit.

Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Bake 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes.

Let cool, cut in squares and serve.

Scale this recipe to servings.
