A Cajun Culinary Delight
Ingredients
2 cups sugar
1 cup milk
1 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp cloves
1 cup pecans finely chopped
3 eggs beaten
1 cup butter melted
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
2 1/2 cup flour all purpose
1 1/4 cup figs cooked & mashed
Directions
Mix the baking soda in the milk and set aside. Combine rest of ingredients and mix with baking soda and milk mixture. Mixing well. Place in a well greased pan and bake at 375* for about 1 hour. The cake is done when you stick a toothpick in the center and comes out clean.
