Which of our presidents did not like broccoli? You guessed it! The elder Bush. I believe if he eaten this great tasting pie, Mr. Bush would have had to change his mind about eating broccoli. I think it would have been great additon to serve at any presidential state dinner. Maybe he would invite me?

Ingredients
1 deep dish pie shell 3 ounces grated Mozzarella cheese
3 ounces sliced Mozzarella cheese 1 pound ground beef chuck or turkey OR shrimp and/or crab meat
1 small can or bottle of mushrooms 4 ounces soft cream cheese
1 bunches fresh broccoli 1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup celery finely chopped 1 onions chopped fine
1 small scallion (optional) black pepper to taste
Tobasco or hot sauce to taste 1 tbsp cooking oil

Directions
Following package directions on the pie crust, bake the crust until brown.

Boil the broccoli until just tender. Cut into large bite size pieces.

In a medium skillet, add the oil and brown the meat. Add the mushrooms, onion and celery and saute until the onion is clear. If using seafood, saute the vegetables first. Add the seafood and saute for 3 to 5 minutes more.

Add the shredded cheese, cream cheese and seasonings until blended. Remember the soup will be salty enough that no added salt may be needed in the dish.

Mix in the broccoli slowly being careful not to break up the pieces.

Pour into the pie shell and top with the cheese slices. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven 35 to 45 minutes. Let stand before cutting.

This dish freezes well. You can make this a low fat plan by using reduced fat for the soups and cheese.
