Although it appears that this dish is time consuming, it hardly needs any attention once it starts to bake. The flavor and rewards of taste on this dish make it worth the time to make it.

| Ingredients |
| liquid smoke |
red and or black pepper |
| salt to taste |
paprika to taste |
| garlic salt to taste |
celery salt to taste |
| onion salt to taste |
brown sugar |
| nutmeg |
Brisket (1/2 to 3/4 pound per person) |
| bar-b-que sauce of choice or Sandra's recipe on this site |

| | | Directions | Marinate the brisket 4 to 12 hours in a foil-lined pan with liquid smoke, pepper, and salt.
Combine remaining ingredients. After marinating spread over the brisket, seal in foil and bake 2 hours at 300 degrees; 3 to 5 hours at 200 degrees.
Loosen foil and brown; basting to keep moist. Remove from oven, cool and refrigerate.
Slice as needed. Before serving, cover with bar-b-que sauce and heat. |
