This can be used for pudding pies or basic tart filing.
Ingredients
1 cup sugar
3 tbsp cornstarch
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp butter
2 cups milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg yolk beaten
Directions
Mix the sugar, cornstarch and salt. Combine the milk, vanilla and egg yolk. Combine the two in a medium saucepan and cook over low medium heat until the mixture thickens. Pour into favorite pie crust.
Notes:
1. You may add 1/4 cup cocoa to dry ingredients for chocolate.
2. You may add coconut to filling or whatever flavor you may like.
