If peanut brittle is a little to hard for your taste, try pralines (pronounced PRAW-LINES).
Pralines are wonderful to prepare for your holiday feast.
Ingredients
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 dash of salt
1/2 cup milk
2 tbsp white Karo syrup
2 tbsp butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cup pecan halves
Directions
Mix the sugar, salt, mlik and Karo syrup in a heavy 3 quart pan.
Cook to a soft ball stage. Remove from heat.
Add in butter and vanilla. Beat until cool. Add pecans and
drop by a tablespoon onto wax paper. When firm, store in a
closed container. Makes about 2 dozen.
