This recipe was Becky's friend's Brenda Trahan grandmother.
Ever had a whole loaf of bread go stale on you? This bread pudding recipe version makes use of a greater quantity of bread.
Ingredients
1 stick butter
1 can Pet milk (large)
1 cup sugar
4 eggs (if you want meringue, separate)
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 bag minature marshmallows
3/4 loaf of white bread or hard stale french bread
Directions
In a large glass bowl combine sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Put aside.
In medium sauce pan melt the butter in the milk until bubbling around the edge of the pot.
Pour the milk mixture in the sugar mixture.
Break the bread into small pieces. Combine the bread and marshmallows into the mixture. Once all the liquid has been absorbed by the bread, pour into a 9X12 lightly buttered pan. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until the top is light brown.
