Mint Julep

Get your hat ….The Kentucky Derby is on – Mint Juleps are a sell out. Some Mint Julep have sold for as high as $2,000 a drink. If that is too fancy for you, try making your own. Very easy to do!

Ingredients

  • 4 oz Kentucky Bourbon
  • 2 tsp granulated sugar
  • 4 to 6 mint leaves

Directions

Step 1

So first you need to put the mint leaves in the mixing glass, at the bottom. Put 2 teaspoons of sugar on top. Muddle it, just to get the oil aroma of the mint and sugar mixing together. Mix in the BourbonA cocktail shaker works really well for this recipe. Add the mint leaves at the bottom of the shaker and pour 2 tsp sugar over the leaves. Take a pestle and grind the mint leaves into the sugar. Add the bourbon, the ice and shake it. .After shaking pour the mixture in a straight glass full of ice. Garnish with mint leaves.
