  • I have really enjoyed your website. My children & I lived in the Shreveport,LA area from 6/2002-9/2005. we have crawfish in our area it just doesn't taste the same as it does in LA.   • I was born in New Iberia La in 1935. We moved to Port Arthur in Dec 1942. My wife from Ill. and married nov 1962. She has never ate cajun food but whene her mother and came for chirstmas of 1962 she cooked a gumbo for them. Now all my in-laws up north eat cajun food.when her nince came from Seattle to vist. Her and husband got te cajun food for the first time so I gave my her my cajun cook book. And never did replace it

  • My mother is from Louisiana and I have gone back and forth my whole life visiting my grandparents in Jeff Davis Parish. When I got married recently my Mawmaw gave me a copy of this cookbook and boy am I glad she did! There are lots of recipes that are really simple and easy to make, and its helping to open my hubbie up to Cajun food!

As near as I can tell, my 12th or 13th great grande pepere was Pierre Cyr who landed in Port Royal, Nova Scotia about 1650-1660. I live in Dalton, Ma..   • Accidently found this wonderful site while looking for crockpot red beans & rice recipe....that was an hour ago. I married into the Cajun Heritage and 30 years later I consider myself a "North Louisiana Cajun" I learned from my mother-in-law...after 5 long distance phone calls I had made my first pot of chicken gumbo and I end the story with "God Bless my husband...he ate it." Thank you for you website, I always want to learn more.
