Another device we are all familiar with is the Blackberry. However,in this recipe it is the blackberry fruit we need. Blackberries (Rubus sp.) are a member of the Rosaceae family and are grown as a perennial crop. Blackberries are widely grown in the south central and northwestern U.S. and are found as three plant types.
Lemon Lime Sherbet - Sherbert Maw Maw's Recipe Box
The Free Dictionary defines Sherbet as - A frozen dessert made primarily of fruit juice, sugar, and water, and also containing milk, egg white, or gelatin. Instead of the lemon and lime use grape flavored Kool Aid - My Grandma Alice Richard Lange use to make the grape ice cube sherbet when we would visit on Sunday afternoon. Do not use the lemons if using the grape Kool Aid.

Kool Aid PieLinda Bruce
This takes 10 minutes to prepare and is delicious. A very rich tasting pie. The creator of Kool Aid, Edwin Perkins was always fascinated by chemistry and enjoyed inventing things. When his family moved to southwest Nebraska at the turn of the century, young Perkins experimented with home-made concoctions in his mother’s kitchen and created history with the Kool Aid story. Many Cajun children grew up with Kool Aid and root beer enjoying so many cold and refreshing flavors.

Tante (Taunt) Linda's Fig CakeLinda Thibodeaux's Collection
Maw Maw always wondered why her fig cake was always so moist. Read what californiafigs.com reveals on figs: Figs contain a natural humectant -- a chemical that will extend freshness and moistness in baked products. Although considered a fruit, the fig is actually a flower that is inverted into itself. The seeds are drupes, or the real fruit. Figs are the only fruit to fully ripen and semi-dry on the tree. For many years the fig has been used as a coffee substitute. The fruit contains a proteolytic enzyme that is considered an aid to digestion and is used by the pharmaceutical industry. And, because of its high alkalinity it has been mentioned as being beneficial to persons wishing to quit smoking. Dried figs were first sold in a commercially manufactured cookie in 1892.
Custard Pie or Coconut Custard PieLinda Thibodeaux's Collection
A few interesting tidbits on coconut juice from FoodReference.com: Coconut juice or coconut water is the liquid inside a coconut. Coconut milk is produced by steeping grated coconut in hot water then straining; coconut cream is coconut milk cooked down until it thickens, or grated coconut steeped in hot milk instead of water.
