| Relay for Life – Together with millions of supporters the American Cancer Society saves lives by helping people stay well, helping people getting well by finding cures and by fighting back. Having had the privilege of attending a survivor’s celebration, I was introduced to wonderful and enthusiastic fellowship, and wonderful food. This chili dish aptly named Survivor’s Chili along with the pulled pork sandwiches served exemplifies this group’s Joie de vie (Joy of life). Not yet rated | | Jambalaya, a Cajun/Creole dish, is perhaps the most versatile main dish that Louisiana has to offer. Jambalaya may be made with beef, pork, chicken, duck, shrimp, oysters, crayfish, sausage, or any combination. Some of the more standard additions are green pepper, cayenne pepper, parsley celery, and onions. Generally, the vegetables are sauteed and meat(s) cooked, then broth or water,seasonings, and uncooked rice are added.
