| As a young girl I can remember planting and harvesting (picking)sweet potatoes. The potatoes would produce a sticky white syrup that once mixed with dirt could only be taken off with kerosene. There are as many varieties of sweet potatoes/yams as there are pie recipes for using this wonderful root of the ground. This is one of them and a great holiday pie. |
