| Chess pie has a simple filling of eggs, sugar, butter and a small amount of flour. Some recipes include cornmeal and others are made with some vinegar. Brown or white sugar may be used, and buttermilk is a common ingredient. Flavorings, such as vanilla or lemon juice, may also be added to vary the basic recipe. Coconut is the added secret to this one along wth a shortcut method of preparing one.

| This frosting is wonderful for a homemade coconut cake. Just add coconut on top of the frosting when you put it on your cake.

| This recipe comes from my mom's recipe box. The strawberries are everyone's favorite and since Mother's Day is in May, it is a perfect way of saying I love you by making her this wonderful moist cake. Since strawberries are in peak season during May it can be found at many local roadside stands and farmers markets.
