| Many Cajuns grew up eating this appetizer at the Cock of the Walk Restautant on Johnston Street in Lafayette before it burned down. The restaurant seemed almost famous for this dish. Many times, the resturant's parking lot would become flooded after heavy rains and once, a Kaplan man stepped out of his car and fell immediately under water! He realized a moment too late that he had walked right into a ditch. |
| This Noveau Cajun selection is going to make you say "throw me one Mister so I can try it!". It bakes up perfect and the taste is worth trading your Mardi Beads for. The color of this appetizer blends in perfect with Mardi Gras theme colors. The ease of preparation would alone be a terrific reason to try it. I am not sure where Maw Maw's friend got this recipe but I would trade my beads and yours for some! Not yet rated |
| Per www.freetranslation.com, farci (fahr-SEE) means stuffed. Vegetables pears and Chayote squash are mirliton to Cajuns but are all the same vegetable just different names based on the region one is from. Not yet rated |

| I am 11 years old and love to bake. I made these for Christmas for my Daddy who is in the Air Force. These are quick to fix, easy on the eye, and a real treat to eat, says my Mommy!

| Great idea for holiday parties and dinners or just when you are plain hungry! |
| This is great to have for parties, social events, or just anytime like we do. You can make these as appetizers. If you really like spicy foods just let each batch simmer in sauce until the next batch is ready to come out. If you like mild foods then just add to mixture and fully coat them in the sauce and take out.
Please DO NOT REHEAT!!! They will be hotter than before. If you like leftovers just bring out to room temperature. And ENJOY!!! |
| Crawfish are plentiful in Southwest Louisiana, and are used in several different dishes. This
particular dip may be served in small individual
pastry shells. See recipe on site for the easy to make pastry shells. |
| As a young child growing up, I remember on Friday's during Lent, my Dad would trade some of his farm goods for fresh shrimp. Mom would make us shrimp stew with fried shrimp balls. As with almost any shrimp dish, crawfish can be used instead. |
| Try a fun punch for the holidays. |
