| When I saw this recipe in the CookSmart section of USA Weekend I knew I had found a great alternative to making holiday eggnog without raw eggs. There is no cooking, no whipping egg whites and cream. Just mix right up and freeze. The spirits keep the milk from freezing and the freezer keeps the milk from spoiling. Now that the children are of age to drink repsonsibly, I can make the easy stuff. |

| Shrimp is one of the most popular shellfish in the Cajun Land. This is not surprising because shrimp have a distinctive flavor, and the pink-white cooked meat is tender, delicate and delicious. The shrimp is a ten-legged crustacean that has its skeleton on the outside. Shrimp from the warm waters of the Gulf and South Atlantic grow larger then cold water shrimp. The species of warm water shrimp most commonly found in the market are white, brown, and pink. They are interchangeable in any shrimp recipe. Most of the Cajun Land shrimp come from Gulf waters and are used to make this delicious shrimp mold popular at Cajun Weddings and Holiday parties.
The pretty salmon color of this dish lends a nice touch to decorating the bride's food table or a party table.

| A recent question asked on the Dave Letterman show was "Other than egg, what is your favorite nog?"...Then I had to hear PawPaw say that same joke until the end of Christmas. So to keep him happy, I would make this really delicious NOG; a recipe from Better Home and Garden. Then this year (2007) my daughter who loves soy products, found some Silk Nog. Now we can all write to Mr. Letterman. Not yet rated |

| This old time sugar coated popcorn dish is almost a lost tradition. Try it today; Ms Shirley still makes it for her friends and family so much so that friends trade her shrimp and okra gumbo so she can in turn make this dish and her Steen's syrup popcorn balls. |
